TheWeddingTicket.com only sends SMS messages to guests who explicitly opt in during the RSVP process. Below is the exact opt-in flow, checkbox wording, and confirmation process.
- Step 1 – Host Enters Phone Number During RSVP, the guest is prompted:
- Step 2 – Explicit Opt-In Checkbox Required — unchecked by default:
[ ] I consent to receive wedding invitation & RSVP reminders via SMS from TheWeddingTicket.com. Standard message rates apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe.
- Step 3 – Confirmation SMS (Double Opt-In) After submitting, the guest receives:
From: +1-800-XXX-XXXX You’re invited! Reply YES to confirm SMS updates. Reply STOP anytime. Only after YES reply is the guest added to the messaging list.
- Step 4 – Ongoing Opt-Out Every message includes: Reply STOP to unsubscribe.
